On October 3-5, 2008, Camp Laurel held its second international program in Baja California, México. Camp Laurel partnered with Eunime-Por Tijuana A.C,. for the inaugural Baja Family Camp, which benefited the children and families living with HIV/AIDS in Baja California, México.
This past year, Camp Laurel sent 29 campers to our program in Tecate, Mexico. The program took place over a three day long weekend and was held on a ranch in Baja California, just south of the San Diego/Tijuana boarder. Children and their families participated in sports, arts and crafts and other camp activities. Camp Laurel volunteers and staff worked together with volunteers from México to provide a culturally sensitive experience for everyone involved.
